The Ideal Baby Bed

Having a baby is one of the greatest miracles of life and as a mother; you want to make sure that your baby has everything he needs as soon as he comes into this world. One of the main things that you need to take into account as you prepare for the coming of your baby is the issue of a baby bed. Because babies are known to sleep most of their time; particularly in the first few months, it is necessary to ensure that they sleep in comfort and in a place that is safe. There are different types of baby beds. Below are the most common types of baby beds.

Bassinets

Basically, these are small baby beds which are perfect for babies under one year. Although they are still a little big for a newborn baby, they are perfect for babies between 3-6 months. They might be on the small side, but they have solid wall, meaning that your baby will be safe, even if he has reached that crawling stage. Their only disadvantage is that once your baby reaches certain weight or age, you will have to find another baby bed because your baby will need more space.

Moses Baskets

A Moses Basket is basically a portable bassinet that comes with a handle. They are perfect for babies between 0-4 months. This is the type of baby bed that is made solely for travelling purposes. However, there are stands that you can use when you want to put down the Moses Basket at home. Alternatively, you can simply place it in a crib and then start using the crib once the baby has outgrown the basket. The benefits of using a Moses Basket are that it is affordable, portable as well as warm.

The Crib

The crib is probably the most common type of baby bed or the most sought after. There are many benefits associated with buying a crib. One of those benefits is that it is big. What that means is that you will have it for quite a long time. Your child will continue to sleep in a crib until they reach that age where you can buy them a proper bed. Cribs also have bars which makes them very safe for the baby.

You can be assured that as your baby grows, there is no way that he will be able to crawl out of the crib. So if you are looking for a baby bed, the above mentioned baby beds are the most common types that you will come across. If you want, you can have one custom-made just for you.
